'Oh'a lehua Flower Essence //power

Ohi'a lehua (o-hee-a lay-hua) trees grow on the slopes of the active volcano of Kilauea on the Big Island of Hawaii. Red hot lava flows often mow them down, however they resurrect quickly. Lehua are often the first life forms to sprout directly out of hardened black lava flows. This flower essence activates the Liver Meridian, an organ regenerates itself, like the lehua tree.

Taken internally O'hi'a lehua creates physical vitality. It's fiery nature helps you overcome inertia by accessing stamina and will power. Like the flowers that resemble volcanic eruptions, this essence resurrects new fire and vibrancy for your system. (It's hot- only use it if you love red.)

This essence may also be helpful when used topically on skin that is pale with small red eruptions. Add 1 drop to a skin cleanser and apply to eruptions. This may help release the redness by creating an alkaline ash condition, like the black lava in which this tree grows.

Ilima Flower Essence //joy

'Ilima (ee-lee-ma) is a small hibiscus flower native to Hawaii. It takes nearly 2,000 blossoms to make an 'Ilima flower lei, which traditionally hangs down over the entire torso. Interestingly, the long 'Ilima lei is worn over the three burning spaces of the heart, abdomen and lower abdomen, related to the Triple Warmer Meridian, which is the meridian that 'Ilima activates.

Taken internally 'Ilima percolates these burners in the body creating feelings of joy. This is a good essence to use when you want to create deeper social interactions with others, as the warmth and moisture it creates radiates outwardly to others. A good topical treatment is to compress 'Ilima over the lower abdomen. This activates your original life force stored in this area and spreads this living 'fire-water' to your cells. The result may be enhanced life force.

Facial treatments: The hydrating, perspiration producing and warming quality of 'Ilima Flower Essence may encourage oil glands in the skin to start producing again. Add a few drops to liquid make-up for dry skin.

Evening Primrose Flower Essence //rebirth

Evening Primrose grows on the dry upland slopes on the approach to Haleakala ("House of the Sun") Crater on the Island of Mauii. Hawaii. Like the legend of Haleakala and the demigod Mauii, who lassoed the Sun so Mauii's mother would have more light to finish her tapa cloth, Evening Primrose is both a solar and lunar flower. It's blossoms, which bloom in the moonlight, capture the soothing, nurturing energy of the moon, in their sun-yellow cups.

Taken internally, this essence is traditionally used to rebirth pre-natal and early infancy traumas in relation to feelings of abandonment by the mother.

A good topical treatment is to put a few drops of this essence on the navel, the site of original mother/child separation. This treatment cleanses natal experiences stored in the umbilicus, restoring a sense of original purity in relation to both mother and father.

Adding Evening Primrose to facial products may help vibrationally soothe skin that is hungry for good balanced nutrition due to lack of essential fatty acids.

Lemon Flower Essence //purification

This essence is made from the Meyer Lemon, which grows abundantly on the Big Island of Hawaii. Activating the Gall Bladder Meridian, Lemon's astringent nature creates a 'squeezing' that cleanses and clarifies, helping you to feel fresh as well as present in your physical body. Lemon fruit's high lithium content may contribute to the energetic lightening and mood elevating quality of this essence.

Adding 2 drops of Lemon flower essence to a water bottle to sip during the day is a good all-purpose purifier. Adding one drop of Lemon flower essence to skin preparations may enhance an overall lightening glow. This essence has also been found to energetically relieve muscle pain when used topically. Maile Flower Essence //nourishment

Maile (my-lee) is a vine-like scrub with an intoxicating scent that grows in different varieties on each of the Hawaiian islands. It's fragrance has aphrodisiac qualities.

Maile is helpful when you're feeling tension due to stress. This 'queen of green' flower essence activates the Stomach Meridian. (Maile leaves are made into long leis that hang vertically down the body through the breasts, following the pathway of the stomach meridian that Maile activates.)
